Our Midwest Region is seeking a highly organized, execution-focused Operations Director to support our Grand Rapids and East Lansing market area. Serving as a strategic partner to market and trade leadership, this role blends elements of Chief of Staff, business operations leader, and special projects manager to help drive key business priorities across multiple brands and locations.
This individual must be comfortable influencing outcomes without direct authority, building strong partnerships across the organization, and creating alignment among diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring exceptional organizational, project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to create clarity, maintain momentum, and deliver results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute strategic initiatives and special projects across the Grand Rapids and East Lansing markets.
- Serve as a trusted partner to market leadership, helping identify opportunities, solve challenges, and accelerate execution of key priorities.
- Support business growth and operational initiatives across multiple operating companies.
- Drive cross-functional alignment among market leaders, trade leaders, and support teams to achieve business objectives.
- Partner closely with trade leaders and functional teams to advance strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational performance, customer experience, workforce productivity, and business growth.
- Leverage data, reporting, and key performance metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
- Evaluate business processes and implement improvements that enhance scalability, consistency, and operational effectiveness.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Help leadership teams balance competing priorities and remain focused on the highest-impact initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization and serve as a trusted advisor to market leadership.
- Support operational planning, business reviews, and leadership meetings through preparation, coordination, and follow-through.
- Act as a force multiplier for market leadership by ensuring critical initiatives maintain visibility, momentum, and measurable results.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in business operations, consulting, chief of staff, or a related leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive results without direct authority.
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and project management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and executive presence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting multi-site operations, field services, construction, home services, or skilled trades organizations.
- Background working closely with operational leaders, general managers, or trade leadership teams.
- Experience leading special projects, business transformations, integrations, or growth initiatives.
- Familiarity with KPI management and operational performance metrics.
