The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic and operational partner to leaders and employees across Apex Service Partners locations within a rapidly growing region. With a strong focus on delivering best‑in‑class service and support, this role partners closely with field leadership to align people practices with business objectives while ensuring consistency, compliance, and an exceptional employee experience.
Reporting to the Regional Director of Employee Services, the HRBP is responsible for supporting Human Resources functions across the employee life cycle, including onboarding, benefits administration, payroll support, HRIS management, training, employee relations, safety and workers’ compensation, compliance and employment law, and offboarding activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with location and market leaders to coordinate onboarding for new hires and newly acquired employees, including new‑hire orientation and HR systems implementation.
- Administer and support employee benefits programs, serving as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, coordinating with benefits brokers and providers, and processing enrollments and life‑event changes.
- Maintain accurate employee data within the HRIS, including job titles, reporting relationships, FLSA classifications, and Workers’ Compensation codes; ensure data integrity and timely reporting.
- Coordinate safety, compliance, and training initiatives across the assigned market, including tracking and reporting required safety training.
- Manage workers’ compensation claims, partnering with insurance carriers and location leadership to support return‑to‑work planning and ensure compliance with restrictions and protocols.
- Support the implementation and consistent execution of Employee Services standard operating procedures across the employee life cycle.
- Execute employee off‑boarding and termination processes, including system access removal, final pay coordination, benefits communication, and required agency reporting.
- Support internal, external, and compliance audit processes through data preparation and reporting.
- Partner with the Director of Employee Services/HR on job structure, compensation, and pay scale updates.
- Support talent management initiatives, including employee relations, performance management, engagement, and leader coaching.
Required Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
- Minimum of 2+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with exposure to multiple functional areas across the employee life cycle.
Preferred:
- Graduate degree in Human Resources or business‑related field.
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM‑CP, or equivalent).
