Overview

Trade Licensing Specialist (HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing)

Apex Service Partners, LLC

Apex Service Partners, LLC (“Apex”) is the world’s largest residential home services (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) leader.  Founded in 2019, Apex has experienced massive growth and is now in more than 130 locations, in 48 states, with 13,000 talented team members, and with investment from some of the top private equity firms in the world.  Apex’s revenue is approximately $3 billion annually, and that number continues to grow very rapidly.

The residential home services industry is highly fragmented and is dominated by small and founder-owned businesses. Apex has pursued an aggressive strategy to grow its business organically and through a high volume of acquisitions (over 300 closed to date).  Although Apex is the largest player in the industry, it has only 2% of the market share, meaning we have lots of room to continue growing. We acquire about 60 companies each year. Importantly, we are building our company with a long-term strategy, which means we will invest in top talent and intend to create an enduring firm that is a great employer and member of the community, in addition to being successful in a business sense.

Apex is seeking a successor to our retiring Trade Licensing Specialist, which is one of our most important roles, since ensuring active licenses in each jurisdiction for each trade is a crucial way to mitigate business continuity risk. This person should be detail-oriented and highly organized, and should also have significant experience with trade licensing or with similar paralegal work and a willingness to be trained by the incumbent until her retirement on September 30. This is a dynamic role that requires both legal expertise and business acumen to drive our strategic objectives. The position will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer.

This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an expanding legal team. Our mission is to support the Company’s explosive growth; identify and mitigate hidden risks; help protect the brand and build a “fortress company;” and ensure legal and regulatory compliance. If you like a high-energy work environment – filled with bright and driven leaders – and have a thirst to contribute to high-achieving teams, this will be a great fit.  Your growth here could be virtually unlimited, given Apex’s trajectory.
