Job Description – Regional FP&A Leader

Mission of the Role:

 

Apex is seeking a strategic and hands-on FP&A leader to support our field operations in the Gulf Coast region comprised of key MSAs in Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Gulf Coast is the largest and most profitable region in the company, with annual revenue of $650M+. 

 

This role is ideal for a finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced, has a strong operational mindset, and is passionate about driving performance through data, financial insights, and cross-functional collaboration. You will serve as a key business partner to field leadership, helping to optimize operational efficiency, manage costs, and support scalable growth. This position blends financial planning, operational analysis, and strategic support, and is critical to building a world-class finance and operations organization.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Act as the primary FP&A liaison for field operations, supporting regional and functional leaders with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance reviews.
  • Lead the development of department-level budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with operational goals. Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and actionable insights.
  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate operational initiatives, labor efficiency, service line profitability, and capital investment decisions.
  • Partner with accounting, operations, and executive leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and to drive continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Own monthly and quarterly business reviews, highlighting key variances and trends
  • Track KPIs and operational metrics, translating data into meaningful narratives for leadership
  • Drive automation and process improvement opportunities across finance and operations

Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or a related field
  • 5 -10 years of experience in FP&A or operational finance, preferably in a field based or service-oriented business
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting
  • Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills
  • Proven ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Experience working directly in senior leadership and field teams
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams with data insights

Other:

 

Location: Dallas TX

Travel: Roughly 10-20% to local sites and conferences
