The Opportunity
Apex Service Midwest has grown quickly through both organic growth and acquisitions, and we’re expanding our team to support additional partner companies in our network. Our Midwest Partner Services group supports payroll processing for 20+ operating companies.

We are adding a Payroll Specialist to help us execute accurate, efficient, and timely payroll processes as our business continues to grow. This is a hybrid role offering competitive pay and a chance to contribute in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
• Process weekly payroll in ADP based on submissions from branch locations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare payroll sheets, reconcile data, and process manual checks as needed.
• Drive accurate and efficient payroll processes that minimize errors and adjustments.
• Support payroll-related reporting (401k, journal entries, etc.).
• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams on special projects and integrations.
• Assist in onboarding and integrating new companies into payroll processes and ADP templates.
• Provide excellent customer service when addressing payroll questions from internal teams.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Support accounting with clerical tasks when not engaged in payroll processing.

Qualifications
• 1+ year of experience in payroll processing, accounting, or a similar function.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, formulas/functions required).
• Experience with ADP preferred; accounting experience a plus.
• High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to notice and resolve discrepancies in payroll data.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; tactful, professional, and customer-service oriented.
• Curious, adaptable, and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
